Originally from Nottingham in England, I arrived in pre-Olympic Barcelona in 1988 and immediately fell in love with the language, culture and history. I have now lived half my life in Catalonia, where I first earned my living as a musician and then as a teacher of English at the British Council and UAB and translator of Catalan and Spanish. I published my first book 'Going Native in Catalonia' and since 2011 run the tourism website Barcelonas.com.
